About Us

After many years of focusing on research and development, I returned to teaching on a regular basis.  When I did, I was reminded of the absurd prices of textbooks!  Why are we exploiting students in this totally unnecessary way!?  I was astounded that the STEM community had not developed the obvious solution:  totally free community-generated course material using the new technologies of Jupyter Notebooks, Google Slides, Python, and other free programs.  To be sure, for-profit companies are using some of these technologies, but these efforts are poorly done and still require students to spend a lot of money.  Also, it is admirable that many professors put their self-generated notes on the internet for use by others, but these are static and (let's be honest) not of the highest quality.  I wanted to change this, making learning materials that mix STEM and art—making modern-day illuminated manuscripts that are of the highest quality, not only in technical content but in beauty as well.

And as we created this content, we can address current-age problems of regulatory reporting issues (e.g., ABET), and the existence of solutions to all textbook homework problems being posted on the internet.  We address these issues by structuring the classes such they adhere to the requirements of the regulatory agencies/boards, with us providing templates for reporting forms.  Additionally, The Circuit Board (composed of volunteer experts) produces new homework and exam problems and solutions every year that are distributed to only verified instructors at schools.

Course Content

Left:  The lectures are high-quality, engaging, and with the appropriate pace and level of difficulty.

Right: The homework problems exercise foundational skills; others address important and current technologies.

Our Sponsors

Even though we are a non-profit entity and our board members are volunteers, we have unavoidable expenses:  website hosting, software fees and other technology expenses, training and editing, and supporting our small administrative staff.  We ask for anyone who can to help us with these expenses to sponsor us at any level you can.
